I continue to find it vexing when attempting to analyse the various logs for troubleshooting purposes. After three years as a backup admin using Netbackup, I still find it difficult to interpret log files. I still am unsure of what information I am even looking for and the only way I can figure that out is using Google. For instance - I am working through figuring out why a backup from a Windows Server 2008 server is failing with error code 13. Google searches seem to point to a network related error on the client being backedup.
Is there anything, anywhere within Veritas's knowledge base that explains how to correctly read log files like BPTM, BPBRM, BPBKAR and the like? Something that just explains in plain, simple to follow terms? I am still constantly learning about Netbackup, which is good. I feel there should be a Complete Idiot's Guide to Netbackup Logs!
Any thoughts, suggestions, links would be most welcome!
