I upgraded 3 of our NetBackup domains to 7.7.1. The Java-based console in this version is quite improved but it is still missing important things or has serious bugs. One feature that does not work as the older Windows admin console used to is "File > Change server".
With older versions, on Windows it just worked. You select "Change server" and then the server and it loaded information from another master. With Java-based console (using auth.conf), on trying to change from master1 to master2, it gives an error that connection was requested by invalid server and that master2 has not allowed master1 to connect in its configuration!
Both master1 and master2 have my workstation in the list of allowed servers and that is what was required for me to connect to either with Windows admin console. From the error messages, it seems that Java-based console tries to make connection from master1 --> master2 and not myWorkStation --> master2. Is this the desired behaviour?
Restarting the application allows me to connection from myWorkStation --> master2.
