I would like to request a product improvement for NetBackup that involves the ability to create on-demand scheduled task(s) within the NetBackup console. VMware for years now has had the ability the scheduled task feature that will allow one to schedule powering on and powering off a VM, creating a snapshot of that VM along with providing email notification thereof. It would be really nice to go into the console and simply create a scheduled task to either enable or disable a single or group of backup jobs and policies for a specific time or window.
Currently within our organization we are often paged to work after business hours late at night or very early in the morning for the simply task of disabling and then re-enabling a backup job or policy. The ability to perform this action should be a feature as it would save valuable time and energy from not having to login into the console to simply disable and re-enable a job or policy. If this policy disables a backup it should also at the time of execution go out and terminate any jobs for that policy are in progress including providing email notification that the scheduled task has completed successfully.
