Preface: Been working with Veritas support since late Jan 2016 on an issue we ran into when trying to search for backed up emails by utilizing the "Microsoft Exchange Mailbox items located through Search" feature in BE 2015.
Before running the Feature Pack 3. when you ran the above, there were 2 fields under "Type: Mail Messages" called "From:"and "Recipients:". No matter if we entered a valid email address - or the person's name (full, partial didn't matter) it would bring up zero results. Didn't matter if we selected a Backup time/Sent time/Archive time either. no combination would show any results when entering an email address in either of those fields.
However searching the "Subject:" field with the subject that is on an email from that person, it would bring up results without issue. Strange right?
After updating to Feature Pack 3. the "From:" and "Recipients:" fields are no longer available? I checked the 'Add/Remove Criteria' button to see if those two were unselected, but they are not even listed any more.
Granted it didn't work before updating, but how exactly does one do a search for backed up emails that were sent from one person outside fo our organization to any number of internal employees.
In example: Say we wanted to restore ALL emails from a particular customer that sent us emails (regardless of who he sent it to). As of right now if we knew what all of his Subject lines are we are golden, but that is near impossible to determine if emails from that customer have been deleted.
