Hi All,
Observed the 7.6.1 client binaries downloaded from symantec file connect having not all client binaries.
The download contain two files NetBackup_7.6.1_CLIENTS1.tar.gz & NetBackup_7.6.1_CLIENTS2.tar.gz. Even if we extract individually or join and extract also not resulting all client binaries in the directories.
Anyone used 7.6.1 clinet binaries, please share your ideas.

I am facing very critical ndmp restoration issue in our environment. We have tried almost everything to go through it but no success.Previousely restoration has been completed successfully for the same ndmp and path. Please find the details below.

Alhought DLO works fine at PST backup, I've got a big trouble with a VIP user. DLO is backing up every single file selected in that user's profile, excep PST. I tried by reinstalling DLO desktop client, deleting the user in DLO console, changing the user to another user profile (first into a preexisting profile, and later to a new one, exclusive for her), forcing the PST address, moving the PST file to another address, selecting "Backup all PST files" at backup selections, deselecting "Backup Outlook 2010 - 2013 files", and even creating a new PST file and moving some emails into it.
I read a lot of articles regarding the issue, and I thought that the problem was due to having a pre 2010 PST, and as the user has a lot of years in the organization, it is PRETTY possible that previous IT personnel never migrated ANSI PST to Unicode PST, but such statement was comprobed to be false when I created a new PST file inside Outlook, and even so, new mails did not back up.
I tried every possibility that got into my mind, and the only one I haven't done yet is formating user's PC. I would REALLY appreciate any help you can give me.

Hopefully some had experiencing same problem like me using symatec backup exec 2010 r2.
We are using this software for backup and it not had problem until now, but lately when I want to restore files from incremental backup it always fail with error e000fee1.
Following the error message I get from the backup program:
Error category : Resource Errors
Error : e000fee1 - A failure occurred writing an object
Please help, had been strugle since monday.

We use Symantec BE2012 with Appliance 3600. I' ve installed RALUS on CentOS 6.5 server with filesystem ext4. This is virtual server on WMWare system.
I've read information that CentOS is not supported Symantec and there no specified OS in Software Compatibility List. First test backup was finished successfully but how can I understand there is no guarantee of stable work. Is it so?
Are there any recommendation what better use, may be ext3 intead ext4 for stable work? Or better use other version CentOS, for example 6.3 instead 6.5?

I'd like to ask for an idea how to backup the subject.
The DAG is stretched over 2 locations - 2 MBX+2 CAS servers in location A(primary) and 1 MBX+1 CAS servers in location B(DR). The interconnection is pure.
Different NBU domains are installed in each location. Exchange dbs are backed up by Exchange policy using DAG option, "Passive Copy only" and "Preffered servers list" in location A. The db copies are backed up using Exchange policy (but no DAG) by independent NBU domain in location B.
In DR scenario all the db copies wil be promoted to active in location B.
My questions:
1. Does the scenario eliminate communication between locations during DAG backup in location A (only preffered servers should be contacted)?
2. Is the scenario (1 Exchange system with 2 independent NBU backup domains) correct and backup/restore will be working in DR situation?
3. Do you have any other opinion how to solve better this task?

I am looking to upgrade the plugin from 7.6.0.2 to 7.7.1, but I am having trouble finding some documentation on how to go about doing so. From what I have found it looks like you have to delete the existing appliance and build a new one via the new .ova and hope everything that was changed previously to make it work will still work. Is there any documentation out there or maybe other forum posts that might be of assistance for this process? I plan on getting the current plugin upgraded and then also installing the web plugin as well.
Anyone know where I can locate Dell PERC H700 inf files for the Simple disaster Recovery Disk?
It seems that Dell only distributes their storage drivers as .exe files.

I am new to BE. I would like to know if its possible to run simulteneous jobs on to the same tape? This is because we could have enterprise backups that may take more than 24 hours backing up yet each backup is supposed to be daily. Or is it possible to have multiple tape drives? what are the issues involved? In a nut shell I am saying how do you back up 20 servers when each server takes more than 2 hours to backup yet the backups have to be taken daily?

after installation of BE 15 on HP DL380 Gen9 with external tape drive Ultrium 3000,
drive was not found during setup of backup routine.
Drive is available in windows (Server 2012 R2) device manager with HP drivers 1.0.9.1
the Drive is not selectable in BE15.
Any idea?
Just started this week - so please cut me a little slack...
I need to add a new tape to a volume pool. The existing tapes in that pool are full. I put a new tape in the robot and we have a rule that assigns all new tapes with a particular bar code to the 'Tier_1_Archive'. This is usually okay as that is what we generally want when we add new tapes. But this is a special case, I want to add the tape to the 'Tier_1_Archive_Offsite' pool.
When I ran the inventory robot, it added this new tape as expected to 'Tier_1_Archive'. I have not written anything to this new tape yet - but still I don't see an option to change Volume Pools.
Can someone please tell me how to do this? or point me to a resource that will explain it? Thank You!

hello i am configuring Sql database backup in win2008 server. As per the tech notes, it says to start the netbackup services with domain logon account that have sysadmin rights in Sql and local admin rights. But i did not do this and my backups and restore is working fine with netbackup services in local system account. Could you please let me know what is the difference in both the procedures. With local sysyem account how the backups are happening and with which user account.
Hi i am new to Backup exec and are setting up a backup solution for a SBS2011 server using RDX media, i have 5 2TB rdx cartridges and would like to know how i should make my backup plan so that i can change the media every day, have a full backup on every media and incrementals until the next full backup.
I would like to store every full backup for 3 weeks.
How do i set this up ?

The DBA doesnt want to give away the SA account for the SQL-Server, is there another way to do this on? Or what is the techincal requirement for the SA on, why do it need so much rights?
I have an issue regarding the netbackup reporting after an upgrade. The report stoped working.
"As discussed, the issue with the client backup report with 7.7.1 on windows master server is reported as a Bug. The bug id is - 3856893. This would be fixed in next release 7.7.2 which would be out in Feb 2016. As a work around, you can use bpimagelist command for fetching the reports for client backups."
Think I should do a notice in this forum. Anyone knows a workaround could post it ;).
